An unusual pairing in a secret got a really negative reaction with a lot of "ugh brain bleach" type comments. One user even assumed the relationship HAD to be non con because one half of the ship was ugly. I've always felt like my partner is way out of my league. Ever since that discussion I've been feeling extra self conscious when we're out together because I wonder if people think the same thing about us.

I love Yan and I also thought this! I don't think I would have if she didn't include Watson and Crick. I feel a bit bad about it because I don't want to be one of those people who thinks everyone I meet should have read and subscribed to the same 500 angry tumblr posts as me. There's a coworker I really get along with at work. She's very sweet and funny and we share many of the same geeky interests. We spend our lunch breaks chit-chatting and it feels like I've finally made a friend at my workplace. She recently wrote a fic and asked me to be her beta. I happily agreed to give her feedback. She did tell me the pairing was KilluGon, but I figured it was either something fluffy or with the characters aged up. It turned out to be smut and the characters weren't aged up. I couldn't finish reading it. I should be honest and tell her that the underage stuff creeps me out, but I'm worried about hurting her feelings and losing her as a friend.
