I mean, no offense, but isn't this incredibly common, inside fandom and outside? Like it definitely seems like one of if not the most popular dynamics in M/F shipping and porn fic. An extremely large number of women seem to be into it.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-27 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, where have you been? There's a strong streak of judgment in fandom and even here on FS where people criticize ships that are problematic or unhealthy. People will imply (or straight up accuse) that liking problematic ships must make you a pervert or whatever.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-27 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, first of all, i think it's a little more complicated than that? For instance its different for different kinds of problematic?

Second, that doesn't really change what I said about it being popular, I don't think

Meanwhile, in the real world non-niche normiesphere, young naive woman getting "taught" and "broken down" by older experienced man is one of the most normalized, accepted, and played out tropes in the entirety of the human race. Quit acting like your kink is actually persecuted, anon.

of course it is, but there are plenty of places in fandom now where dub-con and age-difference would be treated as synonymous with rape and pedophilia, and being openly turned on by that makes you less than human.

Antis don't care how common or understandable something is, they're only interested in tearing people down.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-27 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just kind of confused here? All I said was that it was common

Common, maybe (sadly, imo, and a product of the constant suppression of women's autonomy and self knowledge). But please spare us "women love this irl as well as fic" - that's sexist as hell, and I also bet far less common that men who want to keep women dependent, cowed and submissive/ignorant want us all to think.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-27 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You like women raped. Got it. Stay the fuck away from me then.

I just want to point out for the record

(Anonymous) 2017-10-27 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
this anon is probably trolling and should not be treated as sincere

Your kink is your kink anon. We all have our kinks. Yours is a pretty popular one, though not one I'm personally a fan of. But enjoy what you enjoy. Nothing wrong with it.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes, you say all the right things not to be named "judgy". But there ARE worse things than being judgy, and supporting this kind of deeply sexist and irl harmful trope is one of them.

Some things are not about personal taste. The personal is political.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-27 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I do enjoy fic where there's a difference in experience. (Not underage; I mean an experience gap between consenting adults.)

I like the teaching aspect to it? And a little bit of cosseting.

Not sure if that's exactly what OP is going for, though.
feotakahari: (Default)

Well, we can agree on one point

[personal profile] feotakahari 2017-10-28 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
I, too, don't want to read fics like this.

(My fandoms all lean F/F, but I constantly get ads for a manga publisher called Renta that's on this dynamic like a fly on shit.)

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I like the trope only when the genders are reversed.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
God tier taste. OP is boring as shit.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
OP, may I suggest the grandmama of all romance novels, Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers. The novel that *invented* this trope, with one of the best, hottest, most sensual "losing your virginity" scene in the genre. (Be warned, the novel can get pretty brutal at times.)

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, women being sexually brutalised is SO hot.

Yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk

I kink hard on that, too, and I wish there was more smut where they didn't fall in luuuuuuuuuuurve.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
One of my favorite m/m parings rn has a reasonable popular AU where one of them is 30 and the other 16, and it is my fucking jam. For all those reasons. They really play up the difference in experience and there's this whole "I'm going to absolutely ruin you for other men <3" aspect to it that's just blazing hot. And both characters are getting off on it equally! So I get you!

(Anonymous) 2017-11-02 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Kevin Spacey?

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
Personally, I find what you described disgusting, trite, and the biggest turn off ever.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-28 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Depending on what you consider 'attractive,' I've found some good Rick and Morty fics featuring Rick with this trope.
