Oh PLEASE. She fucking knew. we all know she didn't marry him for his fantastic personality. She married the money and turned a blind eye to his abuses because she was still rich and getting clients through him. Shes as much trash as he is

Those things don't have to be related? Yes, she probably married for the money. That doesn't necessarily mean she knew. I don't think there is enough evidence yet to make the assumption that she did. Just because she was married to him doesn't mean she knew. Lots of times when a spouse (or other family member) does awful things, the other person didn't know.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but I've gotta side with the other anon on this one.

Reading the thread without the images, I almost thought this was the Kate Winslet secret and I was thinking "but of course she knew and even if she didn't, I wouldn't give her the benefit of the doubt because her ex-husband Sam Mendes was one of the many industry people who signed the petition in favor of Roman Polanski."

Knowing that this is the secret about Georgina Chapman and Weinstein...those allegations have been rumors/an open secret for years now. If I had heard them in passing for years while living on the opposite coast and with no film connections, she knew. Weinstein's been doing it for years, and it's been talked about for years, and I just don't have a lot of faith that Chapman didn't know about it, especially given the age difference in their relationship.

I agree with you that most of the time, people committing awful deeds strive to keep those deeds hidden from their loved ones/public society. I just don't think Weinstein was that kind of predator. His history is so long and storied, I genuinely think, like Donald Trump, that he just didn't care. We have "jokes" in our culture about the casting couch and I think he represents that and I think that Georgina knew about it and excused it because there are plenty of people in the film and fashion industries (and every other industry) who genuinely believe it's just part of the job and comes with the territory.

Okay, that actually makes sense. I just was getting the feeling of people saying the standard "how could she not know?" that happens every time a criminal isn't single. But yes, if it was an open secret, she likely knew. She could have told herself it wasn't true and forced herself to believe it, but that would be just as bad.

I can see it both ways, because it depends on how separate your lives are when you are married. I know what my husband does for a living but he could be murdering kittens at work and I'd never know. Trophy wives of rich husbands are trained to stay out of their husband's business and look the other way at possible affairs or shenanigans. Also, I love him and trust him. I genuinely believe he's not a secret kitten killer but again... I don't know that for certain.

Buuuuut on the other hand, my husband isn't super famous and he's not a public figure. There are no rumors about his kitten murdering ways.

I agree that she probably knew, but if you honestly think "she's as much trash as he is" you have a serious inability to evaluate a situation and appropriately assign blame, and it's honestly pretty gross you think that.
