First of all I will never understand being so vain about a fictional character - I ship out of love for the characters and love for the chemistry they have and it's possible that "ugly" characters are kind of my thing.

Secondly I'm sure other comments have already said something like this but try not to give a fuck about what other people think when they see you. Your partner loves you. You are the one they are with. Not those other people. When it comes to your relationship, other people are irrelevant. Aaaand you might wanna tell your partner that you're feeling self conscious.
