Presuming nothing untoward, I take after the side of the family whose women routinely live well into the 90s with little problem to show for it but having to move more slowly. So, I have a pretty good chance of outliving the few family members I talk to, and expect to die alone (hopefully in my sleep from a massive coronary) in whatever decrepit house I can afford, only to have my body found half mummified and surrounded by dead, starved cats when my bills are so past due someone finally thinks they should check in on me.

I'm hoping the "in my sleep from a massive coronary" is what happens, otherwise I'm falling and breaking my hip in winter and freezing to death on the stoop because THE NEIGHBORS ARE ASSHOLES.

Cancer, statistically. Preferably I will die in my sleep when old.

Cancer, probably. I'm pretty paranoid about skin cancers (pale AF + lots of moles + family history) and cervical cancer claimed my grandmother.

I wanna go fast. Don't want to linger sadly.

I want to die peacefully in my sleep, and preferably not anytime soon. I still struggle with suicidal tendencies, but in truth the idea of non-existence scares me more than all of the physical and emotional pain I have to look forward to, at least for now.

I'm betting that my actual death will be horse-related, though.

Probably cancer unless treatment gets a lot better across the board, since so far it’s claimed my mom, who had three different kinds—not metastasized, she just kept getting cancer, three out of four grandparents, and one uncle, and one of my other two uncles has been at war with skin cancer for years. As for how I’d like to go? I wouldn’t, but in my sleep, without pain, after I nod off in my garden on a lovely spring day, at over 100. One great grandparent made it to 96 and one grandpa made it to 92, I might have a shot if cancer doesn’t eat me.

Probably cardiovascular disease. That's what got both my parents, and I have trouble sticking to an even remotely healthy diet. (Yes I realize that is in my power and sometimes I work on it but right now it's a real challenge for me.)

Ideally I'd like to die instantly and painlessly, but mostly I just want to die a long time from now. (I'm 50 and I hope I have some good years left. :/)

Based on family history and current lifestyle: either congestive heart failure or cancer.

Knowing my tendencies, probably either diabetes-related problems or depression.
