Well, if nothing else at least I know I'm not alone in the corner still fangirling Loki. Feels like fandom really turned on him lately!

You like what you like and that's ok. But really I do get the appeal too not only as a Loki fan but because Valkyrie is awesome with a damaged/sad backstory you can run alongside Loki's. I'd never really considered the ship until watching the film and I got Thor/Valkyrie vibes but as you basically said...live and let ship.

I guess some drama might be from people desperate for any canon Loki ship and they feel teased or annoyed he's lost out to Thor again or whatever. Personally I don't go for romance involving him but see him in ships where it's about scratching an itch. With little canon to go on we have to make do with fic. For a guy whose mythological counterpart (and indeed the comics version too) got way around, MCU Loki is quite lonely really heh.
