I can't read the text so I don't know what she said exactly, but I once read an article with actors and actresses talking about love scenes. The actresses were all like, ewww, and the actors were trying to play it cool and not be all like, oh god it was so awesome, but most of them failed.

I've seen this gifset and I think it's this:

That's why I signed the movie to begin with

They said, there's a kiss scene and I was like, oh [looks disappointed/bored?]

Then they say, with Isla Fisher and then I was like oh! [looks excited and happy]

Thanks!

I don't think anyone would have found it creepy if it was the opposite way around, though it can depend on who it was. Like, if it was Woody Allen talking about Gal Gadot, yeah, that would be creepy. But if it was Chris Pratt talking about Gal Gadot, aside from the Chris Pratt haters, everyone would have been, okay, that's cool.

And how is a lesbian kiss not an accomplishment in today's day and age? Come on, OP, you know better than that.

is it a lesbian kiss, though?

Are two women kissing?

(Anonymous) 2017-10-30 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen the movie in question

hypothetically, though, say two straight women characters are kissing because (in-universe) they're trying to distract the cops and (externally) it's hot, could that accurately be described as a lesbian kiss? i would say not

(Anonymous) 2017-10-31 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
The two women kiss to distract the bad guys and pass a knife between them so they can escape:

Not because they're romantically involved or anything.

Just because it's two women doesn't mean that they're lesbians. Can we please stop erasing the fact that bi people exist.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-30 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Lesbian kiss" is far more informative than "bisexual kiss."

(Anonymous) 2017-10-30 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Just because two female characters are kissing on screen in a movie doesn't even mean that they're bisexual, let alone lesbian

(Anonymous) 2017-10-30 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
when gay or lesbian is used to describe an action, it's really just referring to it being same-sex. There's a difference being being a lesbian, and having lesbian sex, for example. Same with a gay kiss vs. being gay.

source: am a lesbian

NAYRT

Yeah, this is what I was getting at. Two women kissing = lesbian kiss, whether both are bi, lesbian, or even straight or any combo there-of.

[x]-kiss describes the sexes of those doing the action, not the identity of those involved in the action.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-31 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Otherwise you'd have straight men having 'bisexual sex', because they fucked a bi girl.

"And how is a lesbian kiss not an accomplishment in today's day and age?"

Uh... is it really considered an accomplishment? Like in what way? I'm not being snarky here, it's just that "two women kissing" isn't a brand new thing that's only happened in the enlightened age of the 21st century. It's a thing that's been going on for some time:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesbian_kiss_episode

It's more common than seeing two men kissing on mainstream television, that's for sure. And in the context the secret references, it's debateable whether or not this is a "lesbian kiss". Isla Fisher's character kisses Gal Gadot's character as a deliberate distraction (via titillating the armed bad guys in the room) in order to save their lives. It's "lesbian" in the sense of "lesbian" porn that's produced for straight men, I guess. Is that an accomplishment?

(Anonymous) 2017-10-31 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Straight women performing for the pleasure of men is neither new nor an accomplishment of any sort.
