Well shoot, I knew there was talk of making a movie but didn't even know there was a Kickstarter. Was it the added scene that kind of spoiled it for you? I'm not crazy about the idea because I rather like that Phryne's in lots of different relationships with men and has a flirtation with Jack. Their chemistry adds a nice tension to the show and I'd hate to see it ruined.

The Kickstarter video (which was wonderfully silly and poked fun at the fandom's occasional obsession with Jack/Nathan Page in a wonderful way) made sure to highlight that there are lovers besides Jack involved in the script. Whether that's before he arrives on scene or if there's some sort of open relationship deal is less clear. But Phryne's sexual independence is something that's been kept front and centre in the promotional material.
