how about being directed by several OG Trek directors, writers, and actors, including Brennan Braga and Jonathan Frakes?

I love and respect Jonathan Frakes as a person, but I wouldn't consider him directing an episode as proof either of Trekness or of quality.

And Brannon Braga just generally sucks.

also, this doesn't exactly go towards disproving my argument that people mostly consider Orville Star-Trek-y and good just because it reproduces the surface texture and appearance of TNG and to a lesser extent Voyager
