Or what do you want to happen at your funeral?

It doesn't really matter, obviously, but I always liked the idea of sky burial / burial by exposure.

At my funeral, I mostly want a brass band and a lot of liquor and food.

Cremated and in one of these reefballs along with my husband's ashes. We also discussed that should something happen and one of us die early and the other eventually get remarried, a post mortem poly-reefball would be fine.

Strip my body of anything useful, burn the rest. Use all the money you would on a funeral to have a party. Tell the family members I hate to go fuck themselves.

This is exactly how I feel. Well, maybe not the last part. But honestly, once I'm dead, what's the point of saving my body? Better to get use out of it and then burn what is left so it doesn't take up space.

If your last wishes can't be to tell people you don't like to go fuck themselves, what's the point?

I guess I'm too nice. I don't like the idea of hurting anyone's feelings, even after I'm dead.

Donate it to medicine/science. It'll probably be more useful that burying or burning it.

I'd like to a) be shot into the sun or b) turned into one of those compost pots or whatever that grows a tree or c) cremated and spread on the ocean.

Or d) laid out in a crazy fantasy-gothic dress in a weird mausoleum with windows so the kiddies could dare themselves to come look in at my horrible corpse/skeleton for decades. :)

Buried in the middle of my garden with a fruit tree, a clematis, and a climbing rosebush planted on top. Put my name and birth and death dates on a bench, hang a birdfeeder and some windchimes in the tree, and put a birdbath next to the bench.

Take anything that can be used, burn the rest and pop me in a nice urn on the mantelpiece or something. Although my right kidney is shitty and I'm not holding out much hope for my liver being in good shape.

Load my ashes into a confetti canon, facing the pews, and have the family members I hate sit in the front row. :D

Toss it into a potter's field. Let it feed something.

Funeral: If I pass before my parents, I'm probably going to get a Methodist funeral whether I like one or not. I have a handful of song and reading preferences, (Neko Case, "Widow's Toast;" Tagore, "There are Numerous Strings"). But the heck if I know if anyone's going to follow them.

I like the thought of my ashes being thrown to the wind high up in the mountains. It's not a valid funerary rite in my country though so that might be a little complicated if I die here.

So long as people make very sure I actually am dead first, I'm not really pushed what happens to my body. I figure salvage anything useful from it, and then whatever seems neatest with the rest. More or less the same deal with the funeral. I've always thought those were more for the living left behind than the dead, so whoever survives me should do whatever feels best to them. (Cursing me for being spectacularly unhelpful right to the very end, for example ...)

Cremated and have my ashes put in fireworks and let off (Hunter Thompson had this done and I think it's awesome as shit), I want everybody to sing "Always look On the Bright Side Of Life" by Monty Python, uncensored, and NO RELIGIOUS REFERENCES WHATSOEVER.

Harvest whatever organs can be used, then cremate me and put the ashes into one of those Eternal Reefs so that I can be a part of the ocean forever. No religious references will be allowed at my funeral, and the songs "Highway to Hell," "Hell's Bells," "Bad Reputation," "If You Wanna Get to Heaven" and "Death, Death, Devil, Devil, Evil, Evil Song" should each be played multiple times throughout the memorial service, which should be at the beach and have an open bar.

Viking funeral. Toss me into a boat with all my worldly possessions, then send me down the river. Then fire a flaming arrow right into the center of it. TO VALHALLA!
