I recently started watching TWD, and I realize I would greatly dislike Negan if I didn't find him physically attractive/ funny. Sort of funny.

Who should you hate but damn it if you can't find it in you to do so?

I think nobody should hate friendship ponies but just two years ago I would have Rarity on principle and now she's actually my favourite pony.

Well, since you mentioned TWD, I actually loved the Governor, even though he was basically a terrible human being.

I don't get the attraction to Negan at all. I know he's really popular with fans too, and I really like Jeffrey Dean Morgan and think he's pretty hot, ngl, but Negan is so...12 year old boy with dick jokes for days that he just makes me go eww.

Negan and his dick jokes make me want to punch a wall. Also me and the boyfriend made a drinking game based around every time Negan does that stupid leaning backwards and laughing thing.

It was pretty bad. It's one of those tics that once you notice it you can't un-notice it. I've fallen out of love with TWD a bit, I thought Negan's introduction and the following character death were really hard-hitting and well done, but it seems to be meandering around now and idk. I just rewatched season 1 and it was so good.

I don't get it myself, tbh. His dick jokes don't make me laugh, but his timing and dark humor do. I guess I can divorce these feelings from my carnal desires. Ngl, I'd hit it, but I'd probably be concerned he'd try to kill me at some point.

YES. I loved the Governor too. \o/ But just the TV series Governor. The comic book Governor was... D: I love Michonne, so the stuff he did to her was unforgivable.

Oh god yeah. TV show!Governor for the win for sure. I was so relieved they changed him from the comics and gave him a bit of humanity and that just makes the dark stuff he does do so much more impactful. Comics!Governor was just...gah. One-dimensional monster.

Yeah, Nathan was a pretty incredibly character to me (largely thanks to the actor who played him, and his phenomenal delivery and comedic timing, IMO). He should have been so, so detestable, and in a way he was. And yet...he was kind of great? I was constantly, like, "This little shit needs a punch in the face," while also being weirdly endeared to him and even kind of impressed by his pluck.

Given that a huge portion of my favorite characters are villains, there are a lot. Melkor, Sauron, Palpatine, Darth Vader, Hux, Kylo Ren, Ysanna Isard, Thrawn, Ronan, Nebula (okay, not evil anymore, but she was), Angelus, Drusilla, Bellatrix Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, Ba'al (Stargate), Apophis, Anubis, Dukat, Khan Noonian Sing. The list could go on. I love villains.

If he'd started out being the way he was in the late manga, I'd hate him. But he was my favorite for the first few years and hell if I was letting go after so long.

Bill Masters from Masters of Sex. For the first two seasons, anyway. I quit watching some time in S3. He's just...how do I even describe him. He's just a big ball of self-contempt, desperation for control, and poorly concealed neediness, and he consistently pukes his neurosis onto other people.

Damon Salvatore. Literally horrible in every way. He's a vampire who preys on people, especially women (until he "turns good" and even then his relative "goodness" is very wobbly). Also he's abusive to basically everyone in his life, in one way or another.

Honestly, I just have a major weakness for male asshole characters who are awful to people out of self defense because they're super insecure and in emotional pain and they're afraid to let anyone see how lonely and needy they are. Only in fiction, though. In RL an asshole is an asshole.
