Re: Similar characters from different fandoms

I guess it seem to me like with Kylo, he was lied to and tricked by Snoke. He's wrong, but there is a reason he believes what he does. Loki, on the other hand, doesn't have that excuse. He had decent parents and a brother he was close to. And yet he decides to go evil just because. And then he finds out he was adopted and goes more evil for no good reason. There was no one there to trick him. Sure, he meets Thanos, but that was later on after he already made the decision of his own accord.

It was a bit more than just finding out he was adopted, though. It was finding out his entire life up to that point was a lie, he wasn't even the same species he'd thought he'd been, and his true species was the one his adoptive family is incredibly racist towards and perfectly happy to kill. Someone very much was there to trick him. His adoptive father, for pretty much his entire life. And if I remember right, pretty much all his villainy happened after that realisation.

I mean, I'm not saying it's much better of a reason, but it wasn't just a decision he made. It was a decision he made after a catastrophic identity crisis after finding out his species, his history and even his own body weren't what he thought they were, and his 'father' had known all along and kept it from him.
