Who was your favorite Mary/ Gary Sue? One you wanted to hate so much but damn if wasn't so ridiculous you had to like them?

Fic,movie, book, tv, whatever! (Also, what made them such a Sue/Stu?)

Look up the Timeweb trilogy by Brian Herbert. Noah is a likable, passably developed character who keeps getting handed ridiculous amounts of power. The author somehow keeps him under control for two books, but by the third, he can basically do anything and solve any problem. He never becomes obnoxious or petty, nor does he become superhumanly well-intentioned. He's just stupidly overpowered.

Agent Pendergast from the novels by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Childs. He's ridiculous character - independently wealthy but works for the FBI, super strong, intelligent, has these weird mystical powers credited to meditation and whatnot. It's a cracktastic series.

Right! I read one about a murder at a ski resort, and it was cool, he was eccentric but it was normal crime solving... so I decided to try another and he did some meditative time travel bullshit.

Ayla and Jondalar from the Earth's Children series. Ayla invented everything but nuclear fission, and Jondalar was the ultimate homosapiens Ken doll.

I'm sorry, but given the notorious facts that Ken dolls pack a smooth nothing and how much of that series is The Adventures Of Jondalar's Dick and its passionate romance with The Sufficient Depth of Ayla's Twat, I'm gonna ask you to rethink that analogy.

When it comes to original fiction, I like most characters people claim are Sues/Stues. They aren't necessarily going to be making my list of favorite characters of all time or anything, but I rarely dislike them.

I only dislike Sues/Stues in fanfic.
