119. While shipping wars are horrifically annoying, people will ship who they want to ship, regardless of whether or not there's a 'canon' love-interest for the characters in question. For a lot of people, fanfiction and pairings aren't about expanding the canon as it is, but rather it's about exploring different ideas and scenarios.

Say, if Kamina and Viral were to suddenly explore some sort of sexual relationship (don't ask me how, LOL). The chemistry between the two of them is such that it might make for an interesting read.

Of course they're free to ship whatever they want to ship, but they can't take said ship seriously and hence no "shipping wars" will come out of it. The only couple for Simon will remain Nia and that's all there will be to it. No matter how many rationalization they try to convey, it will never make IC sense.
