121 - Sweet jesus, THANK YOU! I have never understood the popularity of this show, I detest the fans, but saying that to anyone brings unwanted drama of the likes of "you just don't get it". No, I'm a woman, I get it, I'm just not fucking SHALLOW.

137 - I hope you get the courage to tell them. I know if someone cared about me like that, I would want to know. No matter who they were. Love is so painful and scary, but it shouldn't be bottled up. That only makes it worse.

Look, I completely understand not liking the show for its technical quality--bad acting, writing, direction, whatever--but I have serious difficulty not waving my angry feminist flag when people claim that fashion presented in a positive way (no body image issues) and empowered sex is somehow superficial.

I am a fan of the show, do you detest me? I love clothes and fashion and all those sometimes-silly-sometimes-not makeover shows. I'm also at an excellent university majoring in political science, working for the Obama campaign during the summer, and I'll be a TA next year.

Grow up.

Seriously, not everything has to be deep and meaningful for people to be 'allowed' to watch it. It's just a fun, carefree little show. I don't get why it gets so much hate.

Yes, I still detest you. Why? Because you proved my point. Mention you hate the show, and you get unwanted drama from a fan who can't take a little criticism.

I'm the one who needs to grow up, huh? Then why it is when someone disagrees with me and the fandom I like, I shrug it off and go about my daily business but you can't? No, you have to go and turn it into me having personally called you out and publicly attacked you, which I didn't. No, you're the one who has to go and cause the unwanted/unneeded drama. I just happened to agree with the person who kept it secret, who kept it secret for obvious reasons. What you just did would be the same thing as me coming into a thread of you and your peers fangirling over Carrie's newest sexcapade and me coming in and saying "you're show is garbage, you should all die", a.k.a. trolling. You're no different.

You're a successful girly-girl who likes the show. Good for you. Sorry that 99.9% of your fanbase ARE shallow. I'm sorry that everyone of them I've met and talked to (this is my own family included) talk down to me because I don't like the show. They treat me like I've done some sort of injustice to my gender because I can't like a show about women being women who only want to talk about sex and fashion. My dislike for the show was simple enough but after being insulted just so many times for not liking it, I've grown to hate the fans.

By the way, I've put myself through college, have an above average IQ, own my own business, and have a successful career at a young age. So the pretty little picture you painted for yourself to somehow prove a point that I'm not quite sure is there (I'm guess there was a point to it, possibly trying to prove that your fanbase isn't shallow, which I'm sorry to tell you that you alone do not make up your entire fanbase nor can you speak for them) kind of fails considering that you're talking to as successful a person as you are. You're no better or worse than I am.

Sweetcheeks, you were asking for drama. Claiming to "detest" people just for being fans of a show, I'm sorry to say, is a personal attack.

Also? Her secret is literally asking for physical violence against these same fans, a demographic which happens to include myself. So there you go.

It's a dumb shallow, and inherently sexist show. But calling women who like it "skanks" and saying that when they buy tickets they "pop their boobs on the counter" (uh, what) that's no less shallow and/or sexist.

Point taken, but I'm not the one who made the secret.

Sorry, it sounded like you were full-on agreeing with the secret rather than just agreeing that SatC is an awful show.

No, just really hate this show. I do hate the fanbase, but it's from personal experience with being treated like crap and that I'm somehow less than a woman for hating the show, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them skanky.
