121 - I don't have that much rage toward the show, but I totally understand it. SATC is ridiculous.

144 - wow @ all the people dissing you. You were a bit too harsh in your assessment but I get your point, too. I grew up outside of the American/Disney culture, so I saw the Disney princess movies for the first in my later teens and was offended by most of them, particularly Beauty and the Beast (which everyone seems to defend so...) It's the ultimate example of "Stick around the bad boy, and you can be the woman who can change him". Been there, done that, no thanks.

I've heard that argument about that movie before, and looking over it, it makes no sense whatsoever. Belle did not want to stick around or, really, have anything to do with Beast until he changed; only then did she ever show a sign of liking him in any way. It's not like the girl who stays with an abusive man because she thinks she can change him and he'll love her. In fact, it's the opposite. He changed and she began to love him, not the other way around. If anything, it's a lesson against abusive and self-important behaviour.

Belle could've helped treat his wounds out of gratitude and then left to rejoin her father, she had no obligation to stay with him, yet she DID. Why did she do that? I imagine because she believes there is a worthwhile person, so to speak, inside the beast - but what if she had been wrong? If the beast had mistreated her again, then committed another heroic act, would she still have stayed?

I understand that this might be considered too much analysis for a children's movie, but I'm having a hard time reconciling the movie's message of the changing power of love with the shaky ground their relationship was founded on.
