??? Adam Driver is a sweetheart.

And I don't think that he's going to be erased from the things he is in, so if Driver bothers you that much you should remove yourself from the fandom(s).

(Anonymous) 2017-11-11 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
No, he's a total neckbrony incel.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-11 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
NAYRT

And from where are you pulling this conclusion?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-11 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you're a troll. Okay.

DA

(Anonymous) 2017-11-11 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Its obviously sarcasm?

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2017-11-11 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it's so obviously sarcasm that two people replied to it seriously.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-11 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
He has said some really gross things about his motivation for becoming a soldier. Lots of internalized macho, imperialistic bullshit.

"September 11 was part of it, but I also needed to get out of that city. Not that I'm not grateful for having grown up in Indiana, but I needed to get out of there, and the Marine Corps was a nice, stable option. I had nothing going on, other than selling vacuum cleaners, so I made the decision in January and by February I was gone." - Adam Driver

Such macho. Very imperialism.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-12 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing good can come from Indiana. Nothing.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-12 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Larry Bird came from Indiana

(Anonymous) 2017-11-12 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
One good thing came from Indiana.

Ragime, limestone.

I also know how to pick and choose my quotes to make my point

In the swell of patriotism that followed the terrorist attacks, he decided to enlist in the armed forces. "It just seemed like a badass thing to do," he says, "to go and shoot machine guns and serve your country."

That sounds like a past-tense description of his feeling as an 18-year-old

And I don't know how angry I can get about an 18-year-old dude thinking that way

Re: I also know how to pick and choose my quotes to make my point

(Anonymous) 2017-11-12 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no! He fell into the trap the majority of 18 year olds fell into after 9/11. Hell, the trap the majority of Americans fell into.

Re: I also know how to pick and choose my quotes to make my point

(Anonymous) 2017-11-12 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Uh. I was newly 18 when 9/11 happened, and I thought no such thing. But then, I was super bummed I was too young to vote against Dubya the first time, furious that he won, had Muslim friends in high school, and started as a freshman at UC Santa Cruz not long after 9/11, so maybe I’m not a representative sample.

I see you missed where I said majority, not all.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-11 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Wasn't he like 18 when he joined the army?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-12 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
He was 17 when he joined the Marines.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-12 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Whoops, sorry, you're right. 18. I can't math today.
