Re: If you could change one social norm, what would it be?

I would like all comments about my boobs ever to stop.
It's not fine if you're giving me a compliment.
It's not fine if you're a woman and you think it's okay to compare sizes or ask questions because we are both women.

Stooooop.

Do you tell them you don't like those conversations? Because if you do and they continue, they're assholes.

I just never saw anything wrong if I was close to someone to have those kinds of conversations. I mean, I wouldn't go up to a stranger and be like, WOW NICE CLEAVAGE! even if I was thinking it.

I do shut them down straight away. It's usually not my friends because they all know I fucking hate it.

I mostly get this from people I've just met, especially when they have been drinking. Having bigger than average boobs on an otherwise small body, I get a lot of people, men and women, asking if they're real/can I touch/what size etc. Sometimes they don't say anything and just go in for a grope. Women are more likely to say uncomfortable things and compare their own body to mine. As soon as I step into a women's bathroom or I'm with a group of people and the men leave to smoke or whatever it's like petting time at the goddamn zoo. I also have my skin felt, my hair stroked, my waist grabbed at.

I am smaller than most and I was bullied physically by other girls when I was younger so I hate other people touching me. Women aren't "safe" to me. I don't feel comfortable around strangers without my physical boundaries being respected.

Where in the hell do you live? I have huge boobs on a small body and I've never experienced anything even remotely similar. At most I get the "oh my god your back must be KILLING you" comments, but never have any other women ever groped me or made super uncomfortable comments like that.

Hell is a good description. A very image conscious city right on the water. It's socially acceptable to point out that other people aren't tanned or thin enough to be seen in a bikini here. Big drinking culture. At least two people I know have been featured in Playboy, a few more are acting or performing full time.

If you have a problem with being groped, you're just not fun! You need to loosen up!
- seems to be the attitude of most people here.

Where do you live so I can move there?

North of you, if I have you pegged right. Formerly moderately-sized grunge city experiencing some major growing pains atm. Pretty much everyone here is friendly but has a massive personal bubble, lots of introverts and not a lot of worry about image.

Come on up, we don't have a ton of room but there's still places to go.

some woman I didn't even know grabbed my tit and took off running really fast at a street Halloween party once. If my reflexes had been a bit better I would have clocked her.

Lol, that some weird shit.

AYRT

Omg. Not funny or cute just because you're a woman, random gropers!
I tend to freeze completely when people do this. When I get my voice back from the silent WHAAAAT moment I do speak up, but I haven't done anything badass.

For a second there I was imagining a super elastic boob because you said she grabbed it and took off running. Like she was still holding it and running. I need sleep.

Holy living fuck, people ask if they can touch your tits?!?! GodDAMN that makes me angry, and I'm sorry you have to deal with that complete and utter bullshit!

I hate that it's so normal to me now that I'm surprised there are people who haven't experienced this. I hope things will be better in the future for young women.
