You probably got something stuck under it. Unfortunately, laptop keyboards are a bitch to fix once the key itself stops working, so you're better off replacing it.

Repair jobs on laptops really aren't as complicated as you'd think. Drop the model into Google + keyboard (they're usually somewhere between $15 and $30, depending on the laptop), and once it comes in, just search for a teardown of your model. Some laptops, you don't even need to fully take apart to get the keyboard out.

The first thing I did was check underneath and clean it, so that's not the problem. I'll give the Google thing another try, though. Here's hoping! Even a $15 repair would be pretty steep at the moment, and I don't have another computer I could use in the meantime.
