I like Anna Paquin and Rogue was always my most favorite X-Men from childhood. That said, I hated Anna as Rogue. Honestly, it wasn't Anna's fault, I felt it was the way Rogue was chosen to be portrayed in those X-Men films. I was disappointed by everything they did with her character that I came to hate the films as well. =/ Which seems petty maybe? Hating a whole trilogy just because my favorite character was not given proper respect/dues? Sorry not sorry.

(Also, insert mini-rant here about Jubilee being shown but never mentioned and Shadowcat having such small scenes.)

+1, Paquin portrayed the character as written pretty well, but it just wasn't actually Rogue.

And your Jubilee and Shadowcat rant is heard and understood!

Saaame. I liked Anna Paquin just fine, but I hated the choices made to put her there, the character didn't feel like Rogue at ALL. She was just... New Mutant Girl who happened to have the same power/mutation.

I really hated that after the movie, comics and cartoons started using movie!Rogue's hair! I really miss the big curls and the skunk stripe.

I liked Paquin as Rouge, and it's nice to hear that she's sticking up for Page.

But what I really came here to say is that I just watched Alias Grace this weekend and thought she was great in it as Nancy.

Same!

After the initial allegations, I haven't really been following the Brett Ratner stuff, but I've always loved Anna Paquin. Since she came out as bi she has always been pretty outspoken about it.

I will be the odd one out because I really loved her Rogue (other than the bs in the 3rd film). I've always been pretty neutral on the comic book character.
nightscale: Starbolt (Marvel: Black Panther)

I wasn't the biggest fan of her version of Rogue but I never blamed her for it, same with my constant disappointment at how little Storm gets in every movie she's in, it's not the actors fault it's all down to the people behind the cameras.

But all that aside it's nice that she's sticking up for Ellen Page.

I never got her, either. It's not just the role as Rogue, it's everything. She's not terrible, but she's not great. She's just bland. I appreciated her backing up Ellen Page, though.

I've been watching Alias Grace recently and I have to agree that she's not a very good actress. That doesn't have bearing on her as a person though. And I think she suited being Sookie in True Blood and had good chemistry with Alexander Skarsgard (not the guy who played Bill though, no one had chemistry with him).

Yes! I like her for doing this. She got a lot of crap over this role, but they didn't give her much to do in the movies.

Not really related but I wanted a Rogue movie so bad. I still want it. Or a Storm movie. Jean Grey has suffered enough. X-Men is all about the men though. It's a schlong-heavy franchise.

I'd love a Rogue or Storm movie too. I'd like Rogue to show up in Gambit's movie in a kick-ass non-love-interest capacity too. Even though I do love them as a couple, I just like my action movies sans romance.

I loved her as Rogue. I just hated that they never DID anything with her.
