Like I just saw someone posting about how they didn't like a show, and then when someone asked her why, rather than just saying "I don't like it" or "it doesn't work for me," she insisted INSISTED it was ~problematic in all sorts of ways it simply wasn't.

Or a friend of mine recently got upset with some coworkers, but instead of just saying "I'm annoyed with John and Bob," they spun this whole complicated thing about labor that ended up being kind of racist?

Or people who want to insist their favorite show is the Most Groundbreaking and Woke, even though it's rly not.

It's a hard line to walk, because of COURSE the personal is political and harmful hegemonic structures inform day to day life, but like, chill.

I hate that, too. I feel like some people don't seem to get that not EVERYTHING has to appeal to them, in order to be allowed to exist.
