"And I would not be surprised at all if the OW team decided to make Reaper76 (or any of the popular ships) canon if they can make it believable."

If Blizzard handles the OW lore the way they've manhandled WoW lore, then I wouldn't hold my breath. That said, if they actually make any of the m/m ships canon I'll eat several hats in utter shock, because the player base is fine with lesbians, but mlm is apparently too gross to be tolerated.

(Which probably means that the most likely m/m will be Roadrat.)

Which can be sweet if handled right. But I'm all for McCree/Hanzo becoming canon. x3

Ugh, no. They have no canon basis for ANYTHING. And it's SO cliche and OVER DONE. And the fandom got ridiculously pushy about it.

NAYRT, I'd be fine with any of the popular m/m ships for Overwatch EXCEPT that one. Besides the unfortunate implications you're hinting at, I've always found the idea of that relationship in particular to be kind of squicky.

A lot of the Reddit fanbase (at least) seems to be fine with some slash pairings. The minority is hateful but the majority is just like, "Whatever."

Blizzard is going to follow the money, and the money in games isn't the edgelord slaktivists who complain about that kind of thing.

That said, Blizzard is second only to Disney in turning out market-triangulation blandness.
