It's ok, but the second act went over my head until I was old enough to appreciate it, and not my favorite Rogers and Hammerstein.

Hahaha, this is me also. Maria and the Captain were my first ship ever, so I was always very riveted by the first 2/3rds of the movie, but once they got married and the movie became all about the Nazis and the Anschluss, eight-year-old me found it all very boring.

I love the entire movie now, though, and watch it most Christmases. I actually got to see it in theater a couple of years ago, which was awesome.
