I've admitted it. I've even admitted it to my co-workers. But, I don't go into WHAT I read. I just say, "When I don't read books, I read stories online for shows and movies I like that other fans have written. Especially if it fixes things I think were really dumb or ended poorly."

Like...that's it. And I talk about my favorite movies and shows, what I'm excited over. My older co-workers just roll their eyes all "oh young people" and go about their way. The people around my age will look at me weird sometimes, but overall they're like, "That's really cool. What'd they fix that you didn't like?"

I have no issues with being fannish in the open. But you DO have to keep in mind what would be considered appropriate.
