It's fundamentally not a problem of anything to do with individual people. It's not a problem of social justice and it's definitely not a problem of social justice being "trendy".

It's a function of our national political/cultural discourse getting worse across the board, and it's a function of the way that social media magnifies those problems and intensifies them.
