Okay but there's ten million straight ones and only a handful of gay ones. Can you not see how that's uncomfortable to people like me who ARE gay? My default is "everyone is bi." With the exception of "UNLESS THEY'RE EXPLICITLY GAY." Because my sexuality (gay girl) is erased often enough and made into something for men to fap to. So yeah, I'm sorry, but this is uncomfortable as all hell.

This, thank you. I'm bi, I would love to see more bi characters in media, but if a character is canonically stated to be gay then they're gay. There are tons and tons of characters out there who are never stated to be one or the other for you to play with, you don't need to mess around with the few characters who are explicitly gay in canon.

Not sure about OP, but I don't "play with" any characters? (And am not sure what you mean by that, honestly.) It's not like I ever intentionally set out to ship a gay character with somebody of the opposite sex, it just sort of sneaks up on me, like all ships do, and once it does, it's not like I can just decide to stop shipping it. I mean, I can pretend I don't so I don't get yelled at, and not tell anyone about it, but I still ship it.

Bullshit. I've shipped problematic shit (real problematic shit like massive age gaps) and gone, "No, you know, this is fucked, I'm not going to touch this, bye." You are in control of yourself. So stop coming up with your excuses about how you ~can't help it~.

So, like I said...pretend you don't ship it and don't talk about it. I don't seek out fic or anything for problematic pairings, but when watching the show (or movie, or reading the book, or whatever) I might randomly have a thought about it come into my head, and...I can't control what thoughts randomly pop into my head.

You can stop shipping stuff. It's not pretending. You think it, but you go, "No, wait, that's wrong." That's not "OH TEEHEE I JUST PRETEND NOT TO SHIP IT SEE I'M NOT PROBLEMATIC EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIKE IT HEEHEE." You're not a prisoner to this shit. Stop pretending that you're oh so fucking helpless.

Whatever. You're making me not even feel bad about it anymore. Thanks. :D
