No, it means food hampers - as in a box of assorted food items.

There's a company named Chrisco, which I believe originated in Britain, where you can sign up and order boxes of assorted things (not all the hampers are food either) to be paid of a little each week over the span of a year and they get delivered just before Xmas.

All but one of mine are frozen goods, mostly frozen meats. The one exception is M&Ms.

Food hampers can also be how charities hand out food to people having problems.

Interesting, thanks for the explanatation. I've never heard of those before (I don't think we have them in the US), but it sounds like a cool concept.
