Is that for the best or worst. Because it is a horrible representation but it is the best in the hearts of people across the world.

I finally got around to seeing Pacific Rim last night and yeah, wow, there were some seriously questionable accent attempts going on.

My favourite is probably Hugh Laurie on House. I started watching it in my early teens and grew up watching Blackadder, and it still wasn't until my dad actually pointed it out to me that it was the same guy. I wasn't a very observant teen.

Ugh Pacific Rim! The two Australian characters were... well I wouldn't say they were extreme but it does confirm my opinion that almost no one can do an Aussie accent quite right.

Keanu Reeves in Dracula is hilariously bad.

I think some of the best are of British actors with American accents. So Hugh Laurie as house. A ton of the people on The Wire and Band of Brothers. Andrew Lincoln does a really good Southern accent.

There's a character in the season 1 finale of X-Files (Erlenmeyer Flask) who's supposed to be a Baltimore cop, despite being one of the most obviously Canadian people in history.

Ewan McGregor, Fargo season 3. I couldn't finish the damn season because his accent was so horrible.

And there were two of his characters!

Holy shit. This reminds me I need to finish that season. I think I watched the first 3 episodes and forgot about it.

I maintain that almost no one can do Aussie accents right, except Kiwis, but the New Zealand accent is very similar to the Australian one, only differing on vowels.

The one exception which I only know from watching Youtube videos about actors doing accents is that Robert Downey Jr does an absolutely perfect Australian accent.

Jennifer Ehle's Australian accent in The King's Speech wasn't too bad, iirc.

Brad Pitt did a movie where he played an Irish terrorist (?) and his accent was TERRIBLE.

When Brits do American accents it always stands out to me because they tend to over-enunciate the "R" consonant. I though Hugh Laurie's accent in House was atrocious. And I know that's a dickshittingly unpopular opinion, lol.

I thought Christopher Eccleston did a pretty good job with an American accent on The Leftovers.

Yesss. But props to Marsters for his British. It still throws me off when I see him in things now sounding American.

Almost every time someone attempts a German accent.

Does David Tennant's American accent count? I love him, but he can't really do an American accent well to save his life (which is probably why Kilgrave didn't have one)

Any advertising for Italian stuff with a fake accent to go with it.
Spanish or Mexican people trying to sound Italian are the worst, IMHO.

But for some reason, Mario from the Nintendo games gets a free pass. I don’t even know why.
