Which is par for the course after the Hensons and Disney effectively divorced. At least the Hensons still have Dark Crystal (and are working with the Frouds on it).

On Second Thought: OP is wrong...

Labyrinth isn't a Disney property.

Right? I thought not, but I wasn't sure and didn't know what to google to check...

It's listed on the Henson Company page. And I seem to remember that the Henson/Froud movies, Fraggles, and Farescape were among the properties not sold to Disney as part of the deal.

Right, as far as I knew they had only sold The Muppets, not all of Henson's IP.

How about the sequel?

In January 2016, Nicole Perlman announced that she is writing a sequel, not a reboot. On April 13, 2017, Fede Álvarez was confirmed to direct and co-write the script with Jay Basu.[100] Lisa Henson and Duncan Jones will serve as producers.

Also, the original film was a collaboration between Lucasfilm and Henson Associates and Disney had nothing to do with it. And Tokyopop already made a comic sequel, Return to Labyrinth.

But Return to Labyrinth is bad.

ayrt

Okay. I was trying to point out to the secret poster that something similar already exists, so it's not like that kind of thing hasn't already been done. I probably should have made that clearer, sorry.

Everything Disney does is a cash grab.

Disney's not involved in Labyrinth.

This art is pretty, but I'm just sad there's no Bowie to do this role :(

Yeah, the Tokyopop comic certainly felt like a cash grab. Kind of a crappy plot, too.
