He's reasonably attractive and not their worst choice. Looking over the covers you get when you Google sexiest man alive, I see many worse ones - Bradley Cooper (yuck), Matt Damon (he's also attractive but not that sexy), Adam Levine (yuck), Ryan Reynolds (snore), Nick Nolte (holy shit wat).

I was wondering where Sif was the whole movie...

But i did enjoy Valkyrie. I think I had some issues (general eyeroll at jaded drinking badass), but i did enjoy her interactions with the other characters.

Chirrut and Baze were the best thing in R1. I always side with wanting more explicit representation when it comes to same sex pairings, especially if that means there are on-screen kisses, etc. For het, I kind of like if it's not mentioned (see Kanan/Hera, which was fine until they made it explicit). Unless it's a romantic movie, the romance is rarely done well and it's best to just leave it out (obviously there are exceptions, but overall this is my experience).
