I recently watched Before I Fall on a whim, and was really surprised by how much I was enjoying it...until the end, which I hated. I don't necessarily mind tragic endings when the ending feels integral to the story, but when the tragic ending feels unnecessary and like it doesn't even fit with the story, that bugs the hell out of me, and Before I Fall was awful in that regard. I feel like it was meant to be deep and profound and meaningful - but to me it just felt like a jarring, try-hard cop out.
