I don't think anyone is oppressed. I do think pedophiles who have never hurt anyone and recognize how bad their attraction are given a pretty shit chance at life. Pedophiles really need to be able to come forward without risk of attack in order to get the psychological help they need.

Pedophiles are attracted to children. That's literally the clinical definition of pedophilia. People who get off on having power over someone who is a child, but aren't attracted to the child, are popularly and incorrectly referred to as pedophiles. And that's why real pedophiles who don't want to hurt children are afraid to look for psychiatric help.
