Like what?

Power or anger.

Internalized homophobia. Denial, attempting to turn himself straight.

Also, the belief that because they're not getting sexual pleasure out of it, it's not actually sexual assault/harassment, it's just them being physically affectionate or playfully teasing. Straight women sometimes do the same thing to other women.

Straight women also do this to gay men all the time.

So true.

AYRT

Straight women sexually harass gay men all the time, yes, but it doesn't fall under "it's not sexual harassment because I'm not attracted to [women/men]", which is what I was talking about.

There's this cultural thing among some gay and bi men of being generally grabby or asking to touch women because they're "curious." I think its partly a territorial club/party thing and about making people who are not touchy-feely gay/bi men uncomfortable.

I was groped as a pre-teen by a boy who probably was straight, (I don't know because we've not been in contact.) And it was totally about him being a bully and doing something he knew would make me uncomfortable and I wouldn't talk about out of embarrassment. (You didn't talk about bullying in the 1980s. Or you did but it was like screaming into the void. And you especially didn't complain about anything that could get you labeled "gay" in the 1980s, although I was labeled gay anyway.)

FYI: Sexual harassment as defined by American civil rights law is a form of sex discrimination which creates a hostile environment for women. It's not at all defined on the harasser's ability to get off on it.

Misogyny. Uncomfortably common amongst gay men. Something about women being useless as not fuckable, combined with a way to cosy up in power terms with other men.
