Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

That thread was interesting for a number of reasons. One thing I noticed is that it was 99% anon. I know for a fact that I have seen certain named users arguing and justifying piracy before; wonder where they all mysteriously disappeared to? Or are they actually all over the thread, and just don't have the nuts to stand behind their selfish stances? That would mean they realise it's wrong but still can't bring themselves to give up their thieving ways. Hmm.

... or they didn't feel like being yelled at and called names by anons. Fancy that.

You mean they didn't feel like being held accountable for their actions. Yup, I'm quite sure they didn't fancy that.

Who the hell appointed you the internet police, anyway? I feel sorry for your friends who might occasionally jaywalk.

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-27 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope you get hit by a car while jaywalking, get ticketed and have to pay for the driver’s car repairs.

You're really a piece of work. Or a troll. What exactly do you want all of us evil, evil book thieves to do? Bow to you? Flagelate ourselves? Sorry, we don't actually give a fuck about your black and white high-horse morality.

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

Whatever, Donald. Don't you have some pussy to grab because it makes you happy and fuck other people?

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-27 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, troll.

Cute how you fall apart when you know you're losing.

Go back to your crazy twitter rants, Donald.

That was a good answer. Very good. The best answer. Anyone who disagrees is a phony!

Psh. I bet you voted for him. You sound like the kind of person who thinks Mexican immigrants should be deported because they didn't follow the ~law.

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
That comment was non ayrt. A troll hijacked it. I would never tell anyone they should be run over for jaywalking, jesus.

Yeah, but *someone* did. I'd like to hope troll, but who even knows.

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-27 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
But thanks for hoping that a complete stranger who made a joke gets hit by a car - you shining example of goodness, you.

(Anonymous) 2017-11-27 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Or... you could not jaywalk and you wouldn't even be in danger of being hit by a car! Does not being a self-absorbed asshole ever even occur to you?

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-27 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
.... what the even? I just meant you must be hard to know in real life, if you go around calling everyone you disagree with "self-absorbed assholes" for bending the rules and breaking minor laws.

I'm calling troll. That, or you genuinely do have no friends in life, because who on earth could put up with the likes of YOU?

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-27 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
High praise from the self-absorbed asshole who likes holding up traffic and stealing. Any friend you have probably has Stockholm syndrome as they quietly save up money to pay your bail.

Fandomsecrets. Where occasional bouts of piracy aren't okay, but random threats of violence TOTALLY ARE.

Good god. Sometimes I wonder why I bother with this viper's nest of a website.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but if you frequently step out into traffic, you're kind of asking to be hit by a car. That's only a threat to your sense of entitlement.

Whoa, found a pro-rape person. Cause a few words in there could be replaced and you'd be A-OK with someone raping another.

WOW.

Or possibly we know how stupid it would be to attach our own accounts to an argument for something that's technically against the law? It doesn't mean we "realize it's wrong." Things can be illegal, and still morally justifiable. After all, gay marriage is illegal in some parts of the world. Law doesn't always = right. Also, nobody is even saying "steal everything, always." Just that someone pirating a few books now and then is no big deal. You're acting like we're advocating armed robbery, or something.

I'm for piracy, if it's not available in any legal way.

*shrug*

I pirated an HD enhanced version of Gundam Wing that a fan did years ago. They FINALLY put the whole show and film on Blu-Ray and I plan on buying it. Still not gonna get rid of my pirated copy.

Re: Should creative endeavours ever be bought or sold?

(Anonymous) 2017-11-28 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
Well, congratulations on being the only person willing to admit to it.

I kind of feel like pirating when something isn't available with the intention to buy when it is (as long as that's actually followed up on) is fairly low on the scale. I mean I guess it might have some impact on skewing immediate sales figures but I can't get mad about it.

Certainly a lotta butthurt named anons in this thread
