I don't know why, I assumed you meant O'ahu. (Riffing on NYC as the Big Apple?)

I was stationed there for a couple years, and everybody's jealous but nope. Too humid in the summer (could not be outside without being covered in sweat), too touristy all year 'round.

The Big Pineapple is a pineapple farm tourist park on the northern side of Brisbane. It's part of Australia's habit of roadside attractions with large statues and buildings shaped like odd things, like the Big Banana, the Big Prawn, the Big Merino, the Golden Guitar - to name a few.

The Big Pineapple has, as per it's name, a Pineapple-shaped building.

I used to live near the Big Prawn but the closest I got to it was the building it used to be on top of (the Prawn has been moved off it since), but I have been to the Big Banana, which is also another farm tourist park as well.
