Yeah, the Ghost Rider storyline was okay, but the Hydra AU storyline was fucking great, one of the best I've ever seen for this kind of concept. Especially what they did with Fitz.

Agreed. This was me. Well, mostly. I still had a couple of characters I liked. I wanted to like it, but it just wasn't good imo.

I didn't even make it all the way through Season 2 before I noped out of the show for the same reason. I can enjoy dumb shows if I care about the characters (e.g. Stargate Atlantis). But if I dislike the characters, then there's just no point.

I made it to S2? Maybe even 3? And from Agents of SHIELD it did become the Daisy Johnson show and utterly bullshit.

I gave up in season 3, I pretty much ended up hating every character and that's always gonna tank my interest in a show.

Look, this is my #1 fandom, and I will argue that it's much better than many people give it credit for. I also like it more than I like many of the movies, only because I prefer longer stories and character development, which movies are not designed to do, at least in the same way.

But let's not go crazy, OP. Season 4 was probably the highest quality yet. But it had many, many flaws, and many of those were the same flaws they've always had and have refused to acknowledge.

I'm a suckered for AU world and "trapped in a virtual reality" stuff, so I quite enjoyed last season as well.

Don't listen to the mean people up thread. They don know what they're missing ;) Not everybody was born with the capacity for joy, I guess.

I absolutely loved the Hydra-AU stuff. It's not my favourite show ever, and Skye/Daisy is still the least interesting part of it, but there are some good characters, and AU stuff was really well done.
