I did the same thing with Daredevil. Super invested in the comics but the Batfleck Daredevil film was so unbearably bad, I had no confidence in the Netflix version when it was announced. Even less confidence when they cast Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock because he's not a tall, muscular ginger with a scary face. I basically noped right out of it.

And then a couple of weeks after the release it was blowing up everywhere and I started to want to trust everybody. My friends were telling me it was better than great and that Charlie was a revelation. I was anxious as hell but I watched it. I devoured it. And they were right, Charlie is a revelation. Wait a little while, read some reviews, try not to be anxious but go slow. Try one episode. If it starts going sideways, you can always stop, right?
