Re: Cat food
If i were you, i'd find a good, pet-store food (Taste of the Wild is a very good brand) in both dry and wet. Always have some dry food out (99 percent of cats will nibble, they will *not* gorge), and give her a serving (whatever the wet food label says) of wet food a day.
Put her water dish somewhere away from her food/feeding area (many cats won't drink close to their food source), and put two water dishes out if you can. Fresh water *every day*, and stainless bowls are best for food *and* water.
If you can afford it, get her a fountain bowl (this one seems to have very good ratings and - stainless: https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-Pet-Stainless-Fountain-Raindrop/dp/B0037NKDSG), because many many cats drink more/better with lively water than still. I'm planning on getting that fountain, myself, and my 'hate everything' cat has only started drinking more since I put a bowl in my room here, up off the floor. If you can put any of the bowls up on something steady and kinda high, they like that better. They feel safer.
In fact - try and make sure she has *some*where she can go that's at least shoulder height or higher, because that will be a go-to spot if she's stressed or scared, and many cats really need that. Bonus if it's near a window so she can 'bird watch'.
So glad you get to have your kitty! Good luck!
