When Washington tries to take their guns, pretty much. Or I guess if 45 is impeached. Otherwise they’re just on alert in case another black man, or a Muslim, or a LGBT+ person, or a woman, gets elected POTUS. They consider it an honor to be pissed on by the president and the GOP, as long as they shit on people they hate.

True.

I need the opposition to work on fixing gerrymandering and getting people to vote instead of trying to appeal to that demographic. It's not working.

The GOP has lost the fucking plot. What is wrong with that party? When did they get so batshit insane?

There's no one demarcation line. It's been happening in slow motion day by day for decades.

>Republican Senator Bill Cassidy also praised the bill, saying "working families and middle-income families across the nation will be better off".

>the committee said after [2026] families earning under $75,000 a year would likely face higher taxes

so is Cassidy illiterate, blatantly lying, or just delusional here, is my question

I'm guessing the latter two, though I wouldn't be surprised if he were all three.

Delusional/motivated reasoning

I don't know if this is what Cassidy actually thinks, but it's not hard to imagine someone believing - for instance - that the bill will help working and middle-income families over the long run even if it raises their taxes because it will result in a stronger economy overall.

And of course it's hugely beneficial to him, in terms of his political career and in terms of his personal wealth and success, if he does manage to believe something like that. And human beings are really good at believing things that it benefits them to believe.
