(Anonymous) 2017-12-03 05:48 am (UTC)(link)I don't know if this is what Cassidy actually thinks, but it's not hard to imagine someone believing - for instance - that the bill will help working and middle-income families over the long run even if it raises their taxes because it will result in a stronger economy overall.
And of course it's hugely beneficial to him, in terms of his political career and in terms of his personal wealth and success, if he does manage to believe something like that. And human beings are really good at believing things that it benefits them to believe.
