I'm in the MCU fandom because of Loki.

The first Thor movie was the one that made me actually take notice of the MCU. And Loki was my favorite character. Until CA:TWS came out, I was all about Loki.

Why?

Re: fandom confessions

Because I find him at least two times as intersting as any of the good guys, because for all of his villainy, he's vulnerable and he *hurts* and he wants his dad to love him and his mum to love him and he does love his brother and I'm so close to being one of *those* fangirls and that's why this is a secret because I KNOW okay

These are all the reasons why I hate him.

His dad loved him. His mom loved him. His brother loved him. What is the problem? God, he's so frustrating as a character to me. It'd be better if he was just properly evil.

But his family did love him, they, except maybe for Frigga, just didn’t, I dunno, love him the way he wanted to be loved? Like, he wanted to be the favored son, or whatever, but he was adopted, so Odin really did want him. If he hadn’t he would’ve just left him to die. I think Loki’s funny sometimes but it’s hard to feel sympathy for someone who was willing to enslave and kill people not because he was abandoned as a child, but because he wasn’t. Growing up, I wished my family had understood me better. But I didn’t throw a murder tantrum because of that.

I'm in the MCU fandom because (1) my fiancé loves Iron Man, and (2) Hayley Atwell is hot as fuck. I've found other reasons to like it since then, but those were overwhelmingly the driving factor.

I really like MCU Loki but can't stand a single comic verse version of him.

Me too tbh. :)

He's really well acted and the most interesting character in it! OTOH I don't want to excuse his bad actions. But I really only want to watch movies w/ Loki in them, out of this endless churn of superhero shit. I just don't care about the rest of it tbh.

He's not the sole reason I got into the fandom but I do love his shithead self, he's a fun character.

I'm pretty much the same for both the MCU AND the actually myths. Which is kinda funny because I remember really hating comic Loki when I first found out about the Thor comics. Even as a kid, I really hated the 'Hehehehe, I'm an evil villain/Satan stand in!!' styled Loki. A chaotic neutral Loki who occasionally drips his toes into chaotic good is where it's at!

Just don't ruin MCU for the rest of us. (Not you in particular, but I've come across so many Loki fangirls that don't give a shit about anything in MCU except him, and make it very obvious.)

He's not the only reason for me, but Ragnarok caused the shift from casually watching whatever random MCU movies look like they might be worth my time to actually caring about any of the characters and what happens to them in the future. It's not just Loki, but also Thor and Bruce and Valkyrie. I could go without ever seeing an Avengers movie again if I could just get more of those four having wacky adventures.

I'm the same, only I'd never seen any MCU films before Ragnarok. Catching up on them now, none of the ones I've seen this far has made me care half as much about the Avengers as Ragnarok did with Thor's company.
