Chris Pine is one of those guys who has the ability to grow facial hair as dense as the Amazon rainforest. It's like a weird superpower that he can go from square jawed leading man to homeless guy in a matter of weeks.

Yeah, he's ugly either way, tho.

(Anonymous) 2017-12-06 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Nah. He's not my cup of tea, but I can see why others would fancy him.

Not a major Chris Pine fan but seriously are you blind?

(Anonymous) 2017-12-06 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
This is very true.

Andrew Garfield also has the ability to suddenly go from cute, doe-eyed dork to looking like a dude-about-to-rant-about-the-end-of-days by growing a beard.

I think maybe a Wrinkle in Time?

(Anonymous) 2017-12-06 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

I barely glanced at the picture before reading the text, and the "Sorry, Chris" confused me because I thought it was Ewan McGregor.

Same! Thought it was a star wars secret.

Really? I was super hyped for this movie just because it's A Wrinkle in Time. But I'm nervous, too. Please let it be good and not suck like the movie adaptations of my other favorite childhood books. (Looking at you, Golden Compass, The Dark is Rising, Ella Enchanted, and The Giver).

At least from the trailer, it doesn't look like they're going to make it bland and toothless?

It's funny, I really didn't like the book when I was a kid, I couldn't get into it at all when it was right in my reading level, despite my love of fantasy... but I do think the movie looks really promising and I find myself wanting to see it.

I read the full series as a child and I remember enjoying it. But I can't for the life of me remember a single thing about it now as an adult. It feels a little weird with everyone so excited about the movie because they read the book as a child and it apparently didn't make enough of an impression on me when I read it to imprint anything. I think the only thing I do remember is the cover had a blue centaur with wings for arms on it. Which.... I suppose is one impression that's stuck through childhood after all but probably not the one the author was going for or the movie execs are counting on to sell their series to me. I'm kind of looking forward to the movie just to see how much of it jars whatever it was I read as a child into my memory and how much of it comes across as completely new and unexpected when I watch it.
