Storks was actually good.

(Anonymous) 2017-12-10 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it when I never wanted to watch it in the first place...

Same here. And I say it as someone who really, really doesn't like babies and never want them in their life: I still enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would!

isn't the whole premise of that movie a universe where sex does not exist and neither does any choice as to whether or not anyone has kids? (attempts to not vomit)

[personal profile] malurette 2017-12-10 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
What? Not at all. It's explicitely stated in the movie that there are many ways of having babies and decideing to write to the storks to get one is only of them.

Predictable.

The wolves were freaking hilarious.

I was surprised at how much I liked Boss Baby. It felt wonderfully accurate to the weird, literal ways that children’s imaginations interpret things. Reminded me of the weird stuff I used to think up when I was a kid.

Boss Baby was *amazing*. I was shooketh. My 4 year old niece didn't get as much enjoyment as I did out of that movey.

You leave The Incredibles out of this, anon!

Does anyone else remember the last time Hollywood studios got obsessed with babies? There were like twenty million shitty baby movies at once in the 90s or the early 00s idr. I just remembr thinking "what the fuck why are there so many baby movies" it was so awful. At least half of babies had adult voices or some weird shit too, and then there was also a bunch of commercials like that and why??/

(Anonymous) 2017-12-11 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I remember Look Who's Talking, but I thought that was from the 80s.

Maybe it's late 80s/early 90s I'm thinking of idk i took some cough stuff and now I'm fucked up. I just remember there was a whole bunch of movies like that. I know Baby Geniuses was one but there was others too and they were all really awful.

(Anonymous) 2017-12-11 09:46 am (UTC)(link)
perhaps you're thinking of the cinematic abomination "Baby Geniuses"

[personal profile] cbrachyrhynchos 2017-12-11 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Don't worry, if the trailers before Coco are to be believed, the next thing is, "mid-20th century children's characters made edgy."

[personal profile] cbrachyrhynchos 2017-12-11 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
And then there was Sherlock Gnomes, which looked a lot like, "Trolls, but edgy."

(Anonymous) 2017-12-11 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
I was wondering if my memories of Peter Rabbit were just way, way off or something.

[personal profile] cbrachyrhynchos 2017-12-11 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, given that Peter Rabbit predates Animal House by 75 years, I really have no idea what's going on in the trailer. (And if you really wanted to do animated furry Animal House, just do animated furry Animal House.)

What's up with the babies in Storks?

(Anonymous) 2017-12-11 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Are they all supposed be from (for?) the same family? Is it one baby and all the different hair and eye colors available? Or is there another explanation for the exact same skin tone with such a variety of hair and eye colors?

(Anonymous) 2017-12-11 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
it's a screencap from the online baby generator the movie had up where you could customize your own baby

JACK-JACK DOESN'T DESERVE THIS

(Anonymous) 2017-12-11 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
The Incredibles is over a decade old and isn't about babies...it just has one baby character...

(Anonymous) 2017-12-11 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
The teaser trailer for Incredibles 2 was nothing but Jack Jack
