I thought it was an interesting on bad communication, someone ignoring their intuition, and of a "nice guy" disguised as a nice guy.

Same. I thought the bad communication was masterfully portrayed - very realistic! - and I enjoyed all the ambiguities and the way neither character was very sympathetic. Just human with all the insecurities and neuroticisms that involves.
