I guess if Jo was strong, (and kind of tomboyish, IIRC), she'd be drawn to kids with similar personalities. Although of course one should try to be accepting of people who don't have the preferred traits.

Yes, I totally get that. But calling a young boy "weak" because he... likes music? Is sensitive and doesn't care for rough or athletic games? That's kind of shitty.

He's also kind of a pushover and super easily led. That's more "weak" than anything else about him. I remember liking him as a kid but also wishing he would grow a spine sometimes.
