You might want to check out the old manga adaptation by Hisao Tamaki. Good stuff.

I finished watching Welcome to the Ballroom earlier today so I started reading the manga. Two volumes in it seems like it was a pretty faithful adaption. Some of the weird exaggerated body poses in the anime are in the manga but not nearly as extreme (they reminded me of the worms from the MiB cartoon in the 90s)

How is Welcome to the Ballroom? I've been thinking of picking it up, but I keep hearing mixed reviews about it.

It's one of the best anime I've seen this year. Most of the complaints I've seen are about the art which is very exaggerated at some points, but the animation is great, the characters are really fun, and it's intense like any good sports anime should be.

Ayrt. I agree with the other anon that it was one of the best of the year. I really liked the characters and story arcs it covered.

I don't really follow the anime community anymore so I have no idea about the mixed reactions, but it had an 8.6 average after the finale on MAL.

Tbh, I think I liked it more than Yuri on Ice.

I just downloaded the first few issues of Black Eye Kids (B.E.K.) which I'm hoping is creepy. I also plan to get back to Animosity (left off on issue 4). =)

This reminds me I need to get back to the Teppu manga so I can start a new sports manga before the end of the year. AND I haven't checked Gunnerkrigg Court since September??? A new chapter was starting at the time so I thought I'd wait it out. Might go back to reading it weekly cuz sadness with waiting. lol
