I didn't really care for this ship and probably would have forgotten about it if it weren't for the insanely loud and prechy anti-reylo crowd.

I haven't seen the movie so I don't know what happened but I'm genuinly glad the Reylo fans are happy about it because those anti's were so fucking obnoxious and over dramatic about it. It's always good to see anti-shippers get butthurt after bringing it on themselves.

I felt the same and during their interactions in the movie I was genuinely happy for the shippers.

Just to spite people who've spent the last two years putting their entire online reputation behind the idea that Kylo getting a character arc is the equivalent of a hate crime and relentlessly mocking and bullying everyone who doesn't agree.

He's hateful and I don't see the appeal of them together but fuck it, two movies isn't much canon. people should be allowed to extrapolate what they want.

LMFAO oh man you're not even exaggerating. I've seen it.

Has it possibly occurred to you that the "anti-Reylo" crowd is as vocal as it is precisely because Reylos are excusing some really objectively dangerous behavior on Kylo's part (including the rapey mindforce vibes in TFA) to ship a ~tragic villain uwu~ with the heroine? The fact that Adam Driver is fairly good-looking when not Kylo Ren only further drives that divorced-of-context ship forward.

nayrt

No.
You can't decide people are a danger to themselves and others based on their feelings about on a disney villain with 21 minutes of screen time.
It's just that simple.

So on one hand we have people excusing the bad behavior of fictional characters.

And on the other hand we have people engaging in bad behavior towards real humans.

I don't watch Star Wars, but I know who I'd rather have on my dash.

Fucking THIS. I hate Reylo, but the antis are far, far worse than the shippers or the ship itself.

How objectively dangerous can a fictional character get? I notice it's only female fans who get this 'but it's so UNHEALTHY' treatment. Why not go bug GTA players or something?
