I don't really see how it spoils anything. It basically says, "two characters from the same franchise interact" .... shocker?
People can ship next to nothing. I guess the picture implies their hands may touch at some point in the film. But as spoilers go.. that's.. not a big deal.

It's a ship war. This is how ship wars mostly work, especially in big fandoms.

Combination of ship war between Finnrey and Reylo, and the fact that it's in vogue to hate hero/villain ships and only support "pure" cinnamon roll ships.

Nothing really. It's no different than your average hero x villain type of ship except it involves a male and female. Despite Rey being a really powerful jedi and she's treated as if she if fighting on equal ground with the villain somehow makes her an abuse victim. I know it's cliche to say but if you had this same dynamic between two male characters it wouldn't be nearly as hated.

I'd say it's less about ships like Reylo genuinely bothering them and more like they want to join the bandwagon to make it seem like they are on the "right side" as far as tumblr standards go. People who try to act like all ships have to be pure and have zero conflict are so obnoxious when they try to force others to conform to their comfort zone.

Like... isn't Thor x Loki also a popular ship? I haven't seen them receive half the amount of shit Reylo got despite being arguable worst since they grew up as brothers whereas Rey and Kylo weren't in any sort of relationship to begin with.

I didn't really care for this ship and probably would have forgotten about it if it weren't for the insanely loud and prechy anti-reylo crowd.

I haven't seen the movie so I don't know what happened but I'm genuinly glad the Reylo fans are happy about it because those anti's were so fucking obnoxious and over dramatic about it. It's always good to see anti-shippers get butthurt after bringing it on themselves.

I think I'm confused about the battle lines here. I personally haven't seen the "let us have our fucked up ship" vs the "all ships MUST be pure and happy!" battle, but I have seen the "Kylo is her true love and cares so much for her!" vs "You do realize he legit tortured her and killed several people right?" battle. But the that's just my experience.

I feel like a lot of nuance has been lost in all villain fandoms. On one side, it's assumed that if you dislike a villain or a villain ship, you can't handle anything that's not happy sunshine rainbows and police others, and on the other side, it's assumed that if you like a villain, you must excuse or ignore absolutely every single bad thing they've ever done, when in reality there's a whole world of options between those two. As someone who loves villains/villain-hero dynamics as much as I love seeing them fall and lose everything because they're awful, it's all very frustrating.
