Why do you blacklist if you're really that "ship and let ship" yourself? Kettle, meet pot.

(Anonymous) 2017-12-20 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
That's a really bad argument

"ship and let ship" doesn't mean you're required to actively look at stuff you don't personally enjoy

How is blacklisting not "ship and let ship"? It's just not shipping something and not particularly wanting to see it on your own dash. Everyone else involved is free to continue their ship squee. That is literally the definition of ship and let ship.

Except the complaint is that the OTHERS are too serious about it. OP is just blocking and unfollowing for fun. Right.

Are you....... serious, I honestly can't tell

Wait, why are the two at odds? Blacklisting tags doesn't affect the people posting in them. It's basically saying, quietly, to yourself, "eh I don't care for this content," and then moving on to stuff you like.

blacklisting removes content you find uninteresting from appearing on your dash.

it's just a filter.

are you okay?

If I filer out shit I don't want to see the people that like it can still have their fun while I remain blissfully unaware, that's exactly how 'ship and let ship' works.

Not wanting to see hate for something you like is not the same as not being "ship and let ship." Sometimes I just don't want to see hate (heck, I don't even want to see hate of things I'm not a fan of). Vitriolic hate is just annoying and not something I want on my dash.

I'm not sure if you're a troll or just deeply stupid...

(Anonymous) 2017-12-20 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
The fuck? Ship and let ship means you don't be an asshole to others about it. It doesn't mean you have to look at stuff you don't want to.
