What's the beef with Reylo? I mean didn't Star Wars had that incest thing going on, so how's it worse than that?

What's the other ship? Looking from the outside in, all I hear about is Reylo.

I know ain't the only one out there about this villain/hero/villain sandwich!!!

I knew Finn/Poe would be a thing because they're both cute & charming so who could resist?

idgaf about any ships. Just give me something plotty and occasionally smutty & I'm content. People really need to chill.

Combination of ship war between Finnrey and Reylo, and the fact that it's in vogue to hate hero/villain ships and only support "pure" cinnamon roll ships.

And Kylo in TFA had anti-charisma. He's so unpleasant to watch, that he makes Greedo look like Don Juan. Compared to Anakin's smoldering hunger, Palpatine seducing Anakin out of his convictions and pants with a night at the water-ballet, and Darth Vader's voice and physical presence, Kylo came off about as sexy as my pre-teen nephew having a meltdown. The hunchback with the facial scar had more sex appeal in a three-minute scene than Kylo demonstrated in all of TFA.

Yesss. All I could see in TFA was whiny Mozenrath, it was ridic. He was such an emo crybaby, every time he was alone I expected him to turn on a tiny ipod in his helmet and jam out to early Linkin Park, maybe sketch dragons dramatically.

Well, like a blown-out birthday candle, which is still more heat than we got from Kylo in TFA.

Anakin's problem was that he's a black hole of need for affection, while Kylo's problem was that it's pointless to love someone who hates the idea of love.

Nothing really. It's no different than your average hero x villain type of ship except it involves a male and female. Despite Rey being a really powerful jedi and she's treated as if she if fighting on equal ground with the villain somehow makes her an abuse victim. I know it's cliche to say but if you had this same dynamic between two male characters it wouldn't be nearly as hated.

I'd say it's less about ships like Reylo genuinely bothering them and more like they want to join the bandwagon to make it seem like they are on the "right side" as far as tumblr standards go. People who try to act like all ships have to be pure and have zero conflict are so obnoxious when they try to force others to conform to their comfort zone.

Like... isn't Thor x Loki also a popular ship? I haven't seen them receive half the amount of shit Reylo got despite being arguable worst since they grew up as brothers whereas Rey and Kylo weren't in any sort of relationship to begin with.

To be fair, ships like Finn/Kylo and Kylo/Poe are also pretty loathed by the anti-Reylo brigade. You just don't hear as much about them because they weren't as popular to begin with.

Kylo/Anyone is kind of a bad idea, IMO. Why ship an angry manchild (who murdered his own father) with anyone?

The whole "right side" thing is definitely part of it, what with the "it's abusive" argument, and the "they couldn't handle seeing a white woman with a black man so they stuck her with the nearest white man" argument.

But I think a good chunk of it is also just flat out Kylo-hate. A lot of people really, really do not like him as a character at all, and it has less to do with him being a villain and more to do with how he's written (and to be honest, I can sort of understand where they're coming from. He's not as compelling as other SW villains, or, to note your example, as Loki).

I think this is a lot of it.

He comes across like a whiny dickhead to me, and while I intellectually understand that some people think he's hot, it's not something I agree with.

I can't stand these fucking people.

I’ve somehow managed to not ship anything in TFA or TLJ, but Reylo is approaching notp status because Kylo creeps me out. Which I’m kind of pissed by; I actually think he’s really hot. Just also disgusting and awful and if he’s redeemed I hope it’s by his death.
